- The Conference Overview
Join us for the highly anticipated return of the Family Friendly Albinism Fellowship Conference Weekend from the 14th to the 16th October 2022. For the Conference the theme is “Moving Forward”, there will be some relevant sessions to you, no matter at what stage in the Albinism journey you and your family are at.
We will have sessions relating to moving forward once a family or individual has received a diagnosis, including the next steps and what to expect next. There will be sessions on moving forward through the education system and discussions around different careers and future jobs that people with Albinism can enter, Or for those adults with Albinism, we will have sessions on owning your Albinism and moving your life forward through shared experiences, creating bonds and confidence.
As with the last Conference, we will be running a crèche for the little ones, and a teen programme, based around the Teen Hub. All ages should find a something to occupy them.
Returning for this year, we will be hosting the mini pre-conference for Adults with Albinism, where we will take you out of your comfort zone on an adventrerous activity. This will run from Thursday 13th until the start of the family Conference on the 14th. Additionally we are inviting partners of those people with Albinism to attend, because after all sharing your life with a person with Albinism is quite the adventure and well worth sharing with others like your self.
This Conference is set to be our biggest yet, with our welcoming arms embracing new and old faces alike.
We will once again be returning to the Hayes Conference Centre in the heart of Derbyshire. The centre offers the space the Albinism Fellowship needs, including a mixture of family and double bedrooms. The location offers easy access to the Midlands airport, as well as different train stations that connect to the far reaches of the UK.
The Hayes serves all meals in buffet style, giving all the guests the choice of dishes throughout the weekend. No matter your preferences, you will find something to fill you up and keep you energized through the weekend.
We know that Covid and life in general can put a strain on family finances, so we have done our best to keep the conference as affordable as possible, while still ensuring it provides everything you need. With this in mind, we have set up a non-refundable deposit scheme, where by you can pay 25% upon booking and the rest by August 2022.
